Welcome to The Hostess Mom!
Hi! I’m Niki, a busy mom and your go-to guide for creating memorable moments through hosting and entertaining.
From cozy Sunday dinners and festive holiday gatherings to spontaneous afternoon get-togethers, joy lives in the moments we share, no matter how big or small.
The Hostess Mom is here to celebrate connection and inspire you to bring loved ones together—even if it’s just for a cup of coffee or a quick family game night.
May your home always be too small to hold all of your friends. ― Irish Proverb
More About Me
I’m a self-proclaimed homebody, introvert, and surprisingly enthusiastic hostess. I know, it sounds like a contradiction, but there’s just something magical about filling your home (no matter the size) with the people you love. Give me good snacks, cozy vibes, and a reason to break out the cute serving platters, and I’m in my happy place.
That said, hosting wasn’t always convenient. Before we bought our first home in 2023, my husband Will and I lived in small apartments — the kind where the dining table doubled as a hallway, and guests had to shimmy past the fridge to sit down. But that never stopped me. I’ve always believed the magic is in the togetherness, not the square footage.
In 2021, I stepped into the role I dreamed about my whole life: becoming a mom. Our son Theo arrived in October, and my heart exploded in the best way. But when maternity leave ended, reality hit hard. I craved more time with him — not just for the big milestones, but the everyday moments too. That longing led me to start creating content for other moms like me: busy, loving, slightly tired, but deeply committed to making family life feel special.
This blog is my little corner of the internet where I help moms create memorable moments without adding more stress to their already jam packed schedules. Whether you’re planning a family gathering, pulling together a last-minute dinner, or just trying to make everyday life a little more joyful — I’m here to help you sprinkle in some mom magic (without the burnout).
A few fun facts before you go: I’m a proud cat mom to two fluffy felines, I geek out over Renaissance faires (costumes and all), I’m a Harry Potter fan, and I believe Disneyland is always a good idea. I also love traveling with my crew — whether it’s a weekend getaway or a big adventure abroad.
