This delicious homemade lemonade recipe is going to be a huge hit at your next summer party! Plus, it’s so easy to make you’ll wonder why you don’t make it more often.

Homemade lemonade is truly the ultimate summer party drink! You can easily make it in a large batch for a big gathering and it only requires a few ingredients which also makes it budget friendly.
My go-to homemade lemonade recipe has one small twist that makes it even more delicious, colorful, and barely adds any extra work.
While I’m sharing a classic and simple recipe and the way I level it up for my family, I encourage you to get creative and customize your recipe so that it’s perfect for your family!

Homemade Lemonade Recipe
Basic Ingredients (makes approx. 48 ounces, 6-8 cups– depending on how much ice you add):
- 4 lemons (add additional lemons for garnish)
- 1 cup of sugar
- 48 ounces of water
- ½ cup of blueberries (my special addition!)
Directions:
- Cut your lemons in half and squeeze the juice from them into a large pitcher.
- Add 1 cup of sugar (The lemonade will be on the sweeter side but this allow you to serve it over a cup of ice without it starting to taste watered down)
- Muddle your blueberries and add them to the pitcher
- Add 48 ounces of water
- Stir everything together
- Serve over ice and enjoy!

Fun Ways to Serve This Homemade Lemonade Recipe:
- Rainbow Sherbet Float – Similar to how you make a root beer float, you can serve the lemonade with a scoop of rainbow sherbet!
- Make It Fizz – Top off each glass of lemonade with club soda for a fizzy and refreshing drink.
- Mocktail Option – Turn your lemonade into a delicious mocktail with the addition of ginger beer, club soda, and a beautiful garnish!
Pro Tips:
- Simple Syrup – Instead of adding sugar to your lemonade, which can take longer to dissolve evenly, use a simple syrup instead. (Simple Syrup: Dissolve 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of water on medium heat. Let cool and then add to beverages to sweeten them)
- Gift It! – Since this homemade lemonade recipe is easy to make in bulk, it’s perfect for gifting as a summer treat to friends and family. Below is a fresh squeezed batch I sent over to my mother in law! These Italian glass water bottles are a great option for gifting.

I hope this homemade lemonade recipe becomes one of your family’s must haves every summer! It’s delicious, refreshing, and pairs well with a day of fun in the sun!
