Caprese Wreath Appetizer

Prep Time:2 minutes
Cook Time:15 minutes
Course: Appetizer
Cost: $10

Ingredients

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 cartons of grape tomatoes
  • 1 small basil plant
  • 1 small tub of mozzarella pearls
  • A drizzle of olive oil
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar

Instructions

Directions:

  • Prep the tomatoes: Slice all your grape tomatoes in half lengthwise.
  • Mix the flavor: In a bowl, combine the tomato slices with olive oil, salt, pepper, rosemary, and red chili flakes (about ½ teaspoon of each—or more if you love extra flavor).

Roast the tomatoes:

  • Air fryer method: Cook tomatoes at 380°F for 15 minutes.
  • Oven method: No air fryer? No problem! Roast all your tomatoes in the oven at 350°F for about 45 minutes.
  • Prep your basil and mozzarella: While the tomatoes cook, slice your mozzarella pearls in half and pick about 1½ cups of whole basil leaves.

Assemble your wreath:

  • Start forming a circle on your serving board with the basil leaves (flip a few upside down to create little “cups”).
  • Spoon the roasted tomatoes into the center of the circle.
  • Sprinkle the halved mozzarella pearls evenly throughout the wreath.

Add the finishing touches:

  • Place a small dipping bowl of balsamic vinegar in the center and set out toothpicks for easy serving.
  • You can also add crostini or a light cheese spread to create the perfect bite!
