4 Easy Summer Appetizers for Any Party

Chamoy & Fruit Fries Appetizer

Chamoy is sweet and sour chili sauce that tastes delicious on the rims of drinks and with fruits! And there’s no reason you can’t do the same thing to your cup here! Also, chamoy can get a little messy so serving it in a cup helps contain the mess and also allows your guests to double dip without spreading germs.

Ingredients:

  • Jicama, peeled and cut into fry-shaped sticks
  • English cucumber, sliced into sticks
  • Watermelon, mango, honeydew, or cantaloupe (cut into sticks)
  • Chamoy sauce
  • Tajín (or chili lime seasoning)
  • Fresh lime (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Wash, peel, and cut all fruit and vegetables into fry-like shapes.
  2. Fill individual cups with a mix of fruit and jicama.
  3. Drizzle chamoy over the top.
  4. Sprinkle with Tajín to taste.
  5. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime, if desired.
  6. Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.

Hostess Tip:
Prep all fruit the night before and store in airtight containers to make assembly quick and easy the day of your event.

Crudité Hummus/Ranch Cups Appetizer

I had to throw a classic option in because it’s always a safe bet. You’ll be surprised by how many people opt for the familiar choice of veggies and ranch or hummus. These cups are similar to our chamoy and fruit option just with a different dip and veggies instead of fruit.

Ingredients:

  • Carrots, celery, cucumbers, bell peppers (cut into sticks)
  • Cherry or grape tomatoes
  • Hummus or ranch dressing

Instructions:

  1. Chill until ready to serve.
  2. Wash and cut all vegetables into evenly sized sticks.
  3. Add a spoonful of hummus or ranch to the bottom of each cup.
  4. Arrange vegetables upright inside each cup.

Mini Street Corns Appetizers

A delicious street corn brings back all of the nostalgic summer memories for me and now you can also make it into a summer classic for your family and friends.

Ingredients:

  • Corn on the cob (cut in half)
  • Mayonnaise
  • Cotija cheese, crumbled
  • Tajín or chili powder
  • Butter (optional)
  • Chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Boil corn for 8–10 minutes until tender.
  2. Drain and let cool slightly.
  3. (Optional) Lightly coat with butter.
  4. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise over each piece.
  5. Sprinkle with cotija cheese.
  6. Top with Tajín or chili powder.
  7. Garnish with cilantro, if desired.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Caprese with Prosciutto Skewers Appetizers

These skewers are both refreshing and filling since they include both prosciutto and mozzarella.

Ingredients:

  • mozzarella pearls
  • Prosciutto
  • Grape tomatoes
  • Balsamic glaze or vinegar
  • Basil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Slice tomatoes length wise
  2. Slide on ingredients skewer in the same  pattern for every skewer. (Meat on top, cheese pearl, and then basil and tomato)
  3. Drizzle with balsamic glaze or vinegar. The vinegar will be lighter, brighter and fresher but the glaze is extra sweet and delicious!

Hostess Tip:
Grape tomatoes tend to be sweeter and more crowd-friendly than cherry tomatoes, making them a great choice for these skewers.

Customize Your Summer Appetizers

One of the best parts about summer appetizers is how easy they are to customize based on your guests.

Here are a few ideas:

  • For meat lovers: Add extra prosciutto or include salami on your skewers
  • For kids: Skip chamoy and Tajín in fruit cups. Stick to plain fruit or add lime + a pinch of salt
  • For a crowd: Double recipes and serve everything in cups or skewers for easy grabbing

These easy summer appetizers are going to be a big hit at this year’s summer party! I hope you have fun customizing them for your loved ones!
